"After having taken two years off of any exercise for a baby followed by three years of “too busy to exercise regularly”, I joined the Open Air Fitness program in May 2007. I had started the year determined to be a fit mother that could keep up with an active child and had really begun focusing on exercise. I joined a karate studio in January and did short runs with a friend twice a week. I was definitely getting back in shape before starting with Open Air Fitness, but at a very slow pace. Open Air Fitness took my exercise program to a whole new level! After three weeks I’m already seeing huge changes in my strength, endurance and overall fitness. In fact, I took a lot of pride in blowing past a teenager at my last karate test!

 
Rachel is great at creating challenging, but fun exercises. In spite of all the sweat and the gasping for breath, it’s a very fun, supportive and encouraging environment!

"I've had a great time these last six weeks and I there's a lot I'll take away from the experience, especially when it comes to understanding what my own physical limits are. Besides that the class has always been fun! And such a great group of people. Though I won't be returning for the next six week session don't be surprised to see me again next Spring if not sooner."

"My cardiologist said that it is really better to get out in the fresh air and exercise.  He feels that using a treadmill, etc will get very boring after awhile and then will not be continued.  He's right about that!  I can exercise for an hour at class and feel like it's over pretty quickly but I can feel like 10-20 minutes on the treadmill is a lifetime.  I always felt intimidated about going out in public and exercising due to my large size, but I'm finding it is very exhilarating and definitely more fun.  I actually look forward to it.  What a hoot!  I also look forward to see what new things you will bring to our class.  After only this short time, I am amazed how quickly I now recover from the class.  The first week I felt absolutely, completely drained for hours.  Now, by the time I drive home, I feel somewhat rejuvenated.  My legs, etc are fatigued, but overall I feel good and ready for the day:-) . . . I have lost 5 pounds since starting (without focusing on my eating)

"I've really been enjoying the workouts. I might not use the word "enjoy" at the time of the workouts, but afterwards and during the day, I feel so much better. Like so many of us, I have an extremely busy schedule and knowing that I'm starting my day off by doing something for me and something that is good for me, really gives me that extra push to complete my day."
